Art Research Center, MMCA Gwacheon

The Art Research Center, MMCA Gwacheon established in October 2013 for conducting researches on the modern & contemporary art of Korea and Asia, is responsible for preservation and conservation of art materials, research support, and art information service.

Art Library

Having an aim to become a country’s leading library for the modern & contemporary art, the Art Library provides the general public with art materials collected and organized by MMCA at home and abroad, and it also houses MMCA publications, exhibition catalogues, art books and periodicals.

Opening hours

10:00~17:30, Monday – Friday (Lunch 12:00-13:00)

Closed on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Art Archive

The Art Archive houses art-related materials, such as sketches, drawings, artist notes, photographs, letters, brochures made by Korean modern & contemporary artists, and other materials generated from MMCA’s key activities (exhibition, education and research), and it services free access to the material collections that are fully organized and indexed.

Digital Library & Archive, MMCA Seoul

The Digital Library & Archive established in February 2014 for providing a wide range of art information with art lovers and the general public, is responsible for collection, maintenance and preservation of art materials, retrieving service of digital materials and original copies, archive exhibition and more.

Having an aim to become a country’s leading library for the modern & contemporary art, the Digital Library provides a retrieving service of art materials collected and organized by MMCA, and it also houses digital contents (web database and e-books), art books, MMCA publications, and art periodicals.

Larchiveum, MMCA Cheongju

The Larchiveum established in December 2019 for providing the art researchers and the general public with art information, particularly relating to the collection, is responsible for collection, maintenance, preservation, and retrieving service of art materials, and other archive-related projects.

Larchiveum

The Larchiveum houses materials generated from MMCA open storages, exhibitions, and educational activities, and other art materials and books relating to artist whose works are stored in the MMCA. The visitors freely access to contents at the Larchiveum.

※ You need to make an appointment for access to the photoprint of CHOI Kye-bok's photo album.
